We provide testing of road building materials
The standards used for testing our road building materials are the regulatory requirements in force in Latvia or Lithuania and any other requirements set by the customer. Regular testing ensures the consistent quality of the finished asphalt mixture.
Testing at every stage
Our laboratory is of great importance in every stage of the work undertaken by all the subsidiaries of CTB HOLDINGS. The aggregates produced by CTB KARJERI are tested to enable us to create appropriate mixes for concrete, asphalt, and aggregate mixtures and to use each material in the most appropriate way. Similarly, all material used in road construction – i.e. concrete, asphalt – is tested to ensure its quality and compliance with the required standards.
Our laboratory
The CTB laboratory has a state-of-the-art asphalt analyser, which enables us to quickly determine the quantity, composition, and physical and mechanical properties of the bitumen using the latest methods, as well as the properties of the asphalt intended for processing. This equipment has significantly increased the pace of laboratory work and helps to ensure faster decision-making when incorporating recycled asphalt into new asphalt. In addition, a powerful ventilation system has been installed in the laboratory and three working areas have been created – allowing employees to work in a modern and, most importantly, healthy environment.
Every year, the laboratory expands its scope in the testing of both aggregates and asphalt. In order to ensure the highest quality of the road construction materials used and to carry out consistent quality control, the Latvijas Nacionālais akreditācijas birojs (National Accreditation Bureau of Latvia) has accredited our laboratory. The CTB laboratory complies with the requirements of standard LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for sampling and testing.
